He made a instant impact on the team by scoring 13 goals when he came to Niigata in 2010 season.
However he scored only 7 times along with the team' s slump last season(although he was still a top scorer in the team. )
He had got in form with a rising intonation to get two goals in the last match of the season, which helped the team keep their place at J1.
It proved why he had been called "a savior".
In 2013 he suffered slump and got some minor injuries. Also emegence of young striker Kawamata, forced him lose his presence in a team gradually. In June when the league got a month break, he decided to leave the club because he got some offeres from Europe.
